A dependent's permanent move outside of the United States is considered a qualifying life event and may allow the dependent to be removed from Teachers Health Trust (THT) coverage. To request the removal, the member must submit a life event through the THT Member Portal and provide documentation showing when the dependent left the United States. Once approved, the dependent's coverage will terminate at the end of the month in which they departed the United States. Members must submit this life event within 60 days of the dependent's departure.
Supporting documentation must be provided to verify both the dependent relationship and the dependent's arrival date.
Acceptable documents may include:
Form I-94
Boarding Pass
